This year, we’re proud to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Meals on Wheels in the greater Peterborough area—a program built on a foundation of community and compassion. For six decades, the program has delivered more than meals; it’s delivered comfort, support, and reassurance to our neighbors who need it most. And none of this would be possible without the countless volunteers, donors, and advocates who have generously given their time, energy, and resources.
Our new 60 Stories for 60 Years series will share stories that honor the spirit of generosity and kindness that keeps Meals on Wheels going strong. Every story will remind us of the difference one person can make and how, by coming together, we create a network of care that reaches across generations. When good people choose to help one another, they create something truly lasting—a legacy of compassion and support that can be felt every day in our community.
As we reflect on 60 years of service, we celebrate the incredible impact of everyone who has chosen to get involved, who believes that strong communities are built by helping one another. We invite you to follow along with these stories and be inspired by what our community has accomplished together.
Have a story of your own to share? We’d love to hear it! Contact Chris LeBlanc with Community Care Peterborough by email: cleblanc@commcareptbo.org or call: 705-742-7067, ext. 224. Because while life changes, the kindness that holds our community together doesn’t.
