Maxine Prentice Celebrates 40 Years of Volunteer Service
April 16th, 2024

National Volunteer Week is April 14 to 20, 2024. This year's theme is Every Moment Matters, highlighting the importance of every volunteer and each contribution they make. The sharing of their time and skills is vital to the well-being of our community.

This Spring, Community Care Peterborough would like to recognize the importance of each and every volunteer’s impact. We're hosting several volunteer appreciation events from April to June to celebrate the contributions of our volunteers across the City and County of Peterborough. Thank you for your time, energy, and talents!

A highlight of our volunteer appreciation events is presenting Volunteer Service awards to volunteers who reach a milestone of 2 years, 5 years, 10 years, and so on with our agency.

One individual receiving an award this year is Maxine Prentice who will be celebrating 40 years of volunteer service with our Peterborough Office. Maxine joined Community Care Peterborough as a Board member in the 1980s and transitioned to assisting with the Meals on Wheels program, a role she continues to fulfill to this day.

Maxine shared that she is honoured to be receiving a Volunteer Service award for 40 years. She finds her volunteer role to be immensely fulfilling, deriving joy from the smiles of those she serves and feels grateful for her own blessings.

Interacting with a variety of individuals has also been a rewarding aspect of her volunteer position. Overall, she describes her involvement as a positive and uplifting opportunity.

Community Care Peterborough would like to take this opportunity to say thank you, Maxine! Your perseverance and commitment to your community are admirable and so appreciated.
